The "other" blog editor will be sleeping on the couch tonight perhas because he disagrees with his Councillor wife. Or will Councillor Kim Richter do a Green flip-flop act and change her mind when the love fest crowd fills a couple hundred seats next Monday evening at her proposed public meeting.
You will recall during the civic debate that Coun. Richter said that we should not turn the money down for the overpass and we must be very careful. The slate's vocal Milner resident supporters (instigated by Valtac) put the squeeze on Mayor Green to force the ToL staff to place their "J" design up on billboards and hijacked the two public information sessions. Mayor Green would like nothing better than to have the issue go away by partners scrapping a project they have been working on since 2004, with everyone just accepting the "J". This "J" will be three times the length of the preliminary design (read 3x the cost to taxpayers), cross 3 red streams (read 3 salmon streams), and is not supported by the City of Langley, where most of it will be, nor any other partners to support it.
So, we see that Councillor Richter's blog supports the very possible contamination of salmon-bearing waterways and higher taxpayer expenses (perhaps 6 times with re-design costs) for the sake of a special interest group that is really preserving their financial future. Of course that blog also accuses Councillor Jordan Bateman of working with the BC Liberlas on this, even though Coun. Bateman has little regular contact with Minister Falcon. Of course it is yet another attempt by desperate people to try and discredit the man that garnered more votes than all those guys. Smokescreen for their pathetic desperation folks. If anyone has a "conflict of interest" it should be the Green slate. According to the Oath of Office we heard, at least Mayor Green (if not Green and Richter) should have excused themselves from all these overpass discussions. Again, the news you will not read on the "other" blog.

So you are saying Falcon, Coleman and Polack don't take their marching orders from a Langley Township Councilor? Here I thought Bateman was the premier judging from the rantings and ravings of Kooky Kim and Boogerman Bob. He pulls the strings, no?
The question is "which councillor wants to stake their political career voting against this project"
Intersting the two perspectives - the other bolg and you fine folks. What a difference. Mitchell framed the same issue in his comments on the other blog. I guess Richter has pinnedc herself in a corner and we await the instruction she will give Green. The facts are laying out as they should prior to aming a decision....
1. No 'J' idea the City has ended that.
2. Falcon said the money is there, take it or it leaves the Township for some other jurisdiction (one can only image how Delta -his old stomping ground and Surrey are rubbing their hands in glee)
3. Richter spoke for it and now is flip/flopping......yet again!
4. If the Township says no to this project then you can count out any further project support for this term. The neighbouring communities (including the City) will welcome a negative decision.
5. The mayor talks about moving heavy rail out of Langley but in reality all he wants to do is move it to the tracks that run through Fort Langley and Walnut Grove (which last time I checked is still in Langley) and these folks (and there is alot more of them than Milnerites) have yet to speak up but when they do....watch out Mr. Mayor, you ain't seen nothing yet!
5. The rail companies have alot more clout than the mayor of the Township does in how rail traffic moves in this country, the idea of moving rail is a smoking gun...an outright falacy - get over it!
Thnaks for your insight in to this issue and good-luck Mr. Mayor and Cllr. Richter you hatched plan is crumbling as we speak! Oh yea, who is the NDP candidate on May 12th Mr. Mayor, you may want to be friends with them because you have certainly alientated yourslelf from the Liberals with your foolish comments and strategies.
I love how Kim badmouthes Coleman on her blog and then shows up at his fundraiser. What a hypocrite. She will probably be at Mary's next week too.

Well, this issue is strictly about the protection of slate insiders only and has nothing to do with greater Langley. One can view the various newspaper polls to see that most of Langley favours the preliminary design. As the slate has no idea who really voted for them outside of about 120 people, I doubt any councillor will lose the next election over this.
I also hear that there has been a significant backlash since the election and in 2011 the Green/Richter slate has a big surprise coming. Besides, by then the ToL will be in dire financial ruins and at least two people will be running for their lives.

YES, this is to kookiness of this slate! Coleman endorses Kurt and Green calls the Chamber and Rotary lists to get tickets for his family to attend Coleman's BBQ to appear as being endorsed/friendly. Sonya P. attends Coleman's fundraiser and then files a police complaint against him and Mary weeks later. Richter and The Follower slam these guys every day on their blog and then put that permanent smile on to attend the functions. We will reserve further comment, but this speaks volumes about these people and their politics.
I like "The Follower", it is fitting. I guess it's like an old hockey player that dreamed of making it big in the sport, only to fade away. Then the old hockey player spends his life pushing his kid to make it big, trying to live his life through his son's success. The anger, the rage, the name calling, the bullying, all that goes with not making the cut.
The Follower once took my picture outside a council meeting without my permission. I didn't even realize he had taken my picture at the time until a friend who was present told me. What kind of sicko has to stalk people who are attending a public meeting? Isn't it our right to attend community meetings without being harassed by some stalker sicko?
I heard much later that The Follower once hired some detective to stake out the home of a certain councillor who he hates. This councillor has a wife and two small kinds and this stalker sicko hired a private dick to stalk him for him. Another friend watched The Follow drive by his cul de sac home really slowly one evening at sunset in a van. This guy has some real problems, wouldn't you say? Then his blog has the gall to say that others are crossing some kind of line? Time to expose "The Follower".
To think that this could fall off the rails...
Kinda of reminds you of the LEC issue.
Seems like it is the same two people....what are you thinking
Interesting comments here about the sicko stalker etc., etc. I understand through the grapevine that there are a couple of interesting 'issues' with this certain Councillor and her dealings with Township employees. She feels with the shift to 'Green' power that she deserves special treatment. I know of the issues, would love to have them exposed for the public as it truly would show the 'Greener' side of the Richter scale - it is ugly and it will be revealed before the next election. Her tone in dealing with staff, her issues with staff, and this is a person that Kwantlan wants representing them as their face in the public eye?
