Last night's All Candidates Meeting at Kwantlen Polytechnic University was pretty basic. Kathleen Stephany refused to deviate from her NDP talking points/briefing book, literally going through the platform to answer questions, and reading from her notes.
Perhaps our favourite part of the evening was Kathleen Stephany's refusal to talk about the Property Transfer Tax, as it wasn't covered in the NDP platform. Or when she said "I'm an intellectual." Hard to pick. For the record, Mary Polak stated that with the carbon tax in place, the Liberals can now look at cutting a long list of taxes and that she would like to see the PTT high on the list of cuts. It's a smart move Mary and one that is very likely to stimulate home sales and our BC economy. Nice!
Ron Abgrall is a nice guy, but he didn't know what the PPT was. He admitted that he is not familiar with many of the issues. At least he was honest about that. Abgrall also got carried away with talk about providing recreation for children and building playgrounds, when asked what he would do to help local business thrive and survive in this economic downturn.
Kathleen Stephany appeared very nervous, stiff and angry at times, although without a sound system, one could excuse the animation. Still, the dotting eyes were creepy! The Sarah Palin look is getting old and Kathleen should hang that up before someone thinks she's part of a Saturday Night Live skit. Still, she did let the people of Langley know that Langley is no longer a safe BC Liberal seat. Remember to get out and vote on May 12th.

At least Sarah Palin knows where she stands on abortion.

I won't comment on the dark side blog run by Richter, but I will comment here on these:
It looks like Jordan(I've never met a camera I don't like) is just as thin skinned as his mentor, Coleman. True to form Jordan showed up at the tree planting on Arbour Day (just like he showed up at the reconstruction of the Patullo Bridge for a photo-op.) The mayor was there representing the township and Jordan was there representing----ummmm-- Jordan. Of course he had his children along (good PR) and he posted that as well as showed pictures of his children. When I suggested Jordan did this as a photo-op he took exception and banned (censored) me suggesting I should leave his kids out of this even though it was he who included them in the first place.
And this after someone on his blog congratulated hm for being so "democratic" and allowing people to criticism him on his own blog. So much for democracy.

Mr. Editor, these people are very disturbed and disgusting. As I understand it, Jordan Bateman is an elected member of Township Council and has every right to attend any Township function that he wishes. If he wasn't there someone would bitch and if he does show up, they still bitch. But how could one comment about a man's two very young children without them having a MAJOR screw loose? These people are NOT normal. Councillor Kim Richter should be held 100% responsible for allowing these two comments to be posted to Richter's blog.
Councillor Bob Long was right when he said that if a blog run by a council member was offensive and causing trouble in the Township, it should be removed. Long is a smart man and he was sitting right next to Kookie Kim when he said this with very good reasoning behind it. Kim Richter should hang her head in shame for allowing this trash about two very young children. It just goes to show you how HEARTLESS she really is. But what do you expect from someone that wanted to turn LMH into an abortion mill?
Kim Richter always brings along her pet project to functions and meetings and outings....that would be BIG BOB! So blast off Kim and smarten up and start editing your commenters remarks and quite being so outrightly caustic! As they Kim - you are the problem, not at all part of the solution. That includes the likes of Horny Toad (Fred) and Willy Nilly.
